American Association of Port Authorities
Decision Sciences President & CEO Dr. Stanton Sloane will participate in a panel discussion at the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Security Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Dr. Sloane will provide an industry perspective on new and emerging radiation detection technologies. The AAPA Security Committee collects and disseminates information pertaining to protection of cargo and facilities from theft, pilferage and vandalism, including prudent business and operation practices, appropriate facility design, security personnel training and procedures and port security technologies and techniques. Founded in 1912, the AAPA is a trade association which represents more than 130 public port authorities in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America. AAPA promotes the common interests of the port community, and provides leadership on trade, transportation, environmental and other issues related to port development and operations. AAPA also works to educate the public, media, local, state and Federal legislators about the essential role ports play within the global transportation system.
